I am a stereotypical photoshop hater but this week we had to use it for uni. We had to draw fish, cats and birds using ink and card and using rubbings and scan them in to photoshop to convey certain words. Mine was ''loving''. I'm a total stranger to photoshop but heres my first try.

Hybrid
At uni we were asked to make a hybrid cross between two animals out of found materials and scraps that we found around our homes etc.
This is my hare/deer made from bubble wrap, fabric, tassels, pizza box, egg cartons and wire.

Unimpressed.
I wasn't going to post this as it is not in my usual style but the person I did it for really liked it so I figured I may aswell put it up. Recently alot of friends came back from afghanistan and im currently in the process of drawing pictures of their photos and doing one larger scale painting as gifts. This is the first finished one which im not to pleased with. It's done with fineliner, all crosshatched with a little bit of pencil on the really dark bits. I had to do it all sat at my PC because my laptop is broken. The gun is a GPMG which isn't drawn as accuratley as I'd have liked but Aaron really liked it so thats all Im bothered about. Im starting the painting this week which should be fun considering im a pretty big disaster with anything but a pen!

perfect day
Today I was feeling a bit fed up so I decided to go for a walk. On my way I stopped off at smiths and bought a sketch book and set off on my way. I walked down to the river to find somewhere to sit and draw but due to the amazing weather, everyone had flocked to the river. I didn't fancy sitting in a crowd so I kept walking for a good couple of hours. The further I got, the quieter it got and by the late afternoon I found a lovely little field with some bright yellow rapeseed plants and set up my temporary camp on the river bank. I spent the next few hours sat in silence other than the birds and the occational boat passing, with my feet in the water and my sketchbook in my lap. I've had the most relaxing day other than the tediously long walk home again!

The Raven
Erm....a lino cut which I hoped would turn out alot better! A little dissapointed considering how much effort I put into this but oh well! I've not done much print making but i'm enjoying practicing and hopefully soon I'll be able to post some half decent printing.
FMP TIME!
